Rental Terms

We seek to provide a service which balances providing the core needs of our clients with affordable pricing. Client’s feedback is an important contribution to providing the service that the clients require and we are always happy to receive your comments.

Please Note: We reserve the right to alter or change the conditions on our website or confirmation letter without prior notice.


Deliveries

Your car will be delivered in Faro Airport or your accommodation** as requested.
** Due to the recently introduced tolls on the A22, we have to bring into account extra costs for delivery/pick up on location other than Faro Airport. Depending on the rental time this will be min. € 10,- en max. € 35,-.

On arrival in Portugal please call the free phone number below to finalize arrangements for the delivery of your car. The office is open from 09.00 to 19.00 seven days a week. The reps will not set off to deliver your car until you have confirmed your arrival. Deliveries are normally made between 08:00 and 22:30. If your hotel or apartment is booked in a different name to that on this reservation please let us have the other name to facilitate contact should the reps need to ask for you at your reception. Please note that mobile phones on roaming services may not call free phone services and that you may need to dial a national code to call Portuguese numbers (00351). At the airport you will be met in the arrivals area by a representative of YOR car hire-Young Original car hire.

Please look out for someone with a sign YOR car hire. As you come through the sliding doors from baggage reclaim please follow the barrier round to your left. Ahead of you and to your right you will see the car hire reps waiting area (near the POLICE STATION). If you do not see the airport rep as you come out of the arrivals area he may be with another client. There is a public phone near the arrivals area. We do not have a desk in the airport. You may alternatively between 09.00 and 19.00 call the freephone number shown below and our office staff will call the airport rep for you. Please note that mobile phones on roaming services may not call free phone services and that you may need to dial a national code to call Portuguese numbers (00351).

The car will be on our car park at airport car park No. 4 Row H. On leaving the front of the terminal building please cross the road and the pay car park in front of you. Our car park is across the road on the far side of the pay car park about 200 meters from the terminal building. If you have a trolley you may wish to follow the road to your right around the edge of the car park.

When returning the car to Faro airport please park it on the car park from where you collected it. There is a swipe card on the sun visor to allow access to the car park. Please replace the card on the sun visor as the airport authority charge 25 euros for replacement cards. If the rep is unable to be there to welcome you please leave the car unlocked with the key on top of the drivers wheel. Please rest assured that if you do not meet the rep in the normal course your deposit card slip will be destroyed without delay.

Please do not leave the car on any other car park, as you will remain responsible for hire fees and our expenses. If there has been any damage or other loss to the car please call the rep on the number above. It is in your interest to agree the damage with him before leaving.

CAR PICK UP and/or CAR RETURN conditions

The client will find the representative YOR CAR HIRE ALGARVE, at our new PARK P4-centre.
On leaving the front of the terminal building, please continue UNTIL THE END OF TERMINAL BUILDING and the car PARK P4 is in front of you , just across the road, about 50 meters from the terminal building.
If the client have a trolley , he may wish to follow the road to your right around the edge of the car park.
The representative YOR CAR HIRE ALGARVE is at the center of the car PARK P4 and contracts will now be signed, by the YOR van during day –light hours and at the meeting point on PARK P4 before 08.30am or after 19.00h.

The car rental key, is to be handled in the hand of the client.
The client will open the door and the client will check all damages and scratches, fuel level, or other issues.
In case of doubts the representative YOR CAR HIRE ALGARVE will double check the car agreement contract.
The client have the key, to open the car, and check the damages and car conditions.
Once the client leaves the car Park 4, the client is accepting the car conditions and future responsibilities.

 

The car return key, is to be handled in the hand of the representative YOR CAR HIRE ALGARVE.
The client will return the car rental, at the time agreed on the contract YOR CAR HIRE ALGARVE.
The representative YOR CAR HIRE ALGARVE, will check the car together with the client.
The representative YOR CAR HIRE ALGARVE is waiting for the client at the agreed contract return time!
The representative YOR CAR HIRE ALGARVE, will be at PARK P4, from 08.30H-21.00H, and it is a free service.

The car returns other time than at the agreed contract return time.
When the client need to return the car rental, at another time than the contract agreed time; The client will call YOR CAR HIRE ALGARVE, before, to change, and to agree the new return time!

 

Over time. When the pick-up time or the return time, is from 21.00H-08.30H.
YOR CAR HIRE ALGARVE, will charge 20 euro extra, for each over time.
Extra 20 Euro - Car delivery / or return service at the airport at night between 21.00H and 8.30H
The Park P4 parking can only be used to collect and return rental cars.
YOR CAR HIRE ALGARVE company declines damages not report to the Police.
It is compulsory that the client will deliver the Police damage report upon the car hire return.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
  • Your budget car hire in Portugal can be delivered anywhere in the Algarve and Lisbon regions.
  • Upon request, we can deliver your car to Faro or Lisbon international airport or to a hotel or resort anywhere in the Algarve region. Deliveries in the Lisbon area are subject to a surcharge of € 20.00.
  • Our complimentary "rent it here, leave it there" service is available throughout the Algarve area.
  • To rent cars in Portugal, the minimum driver's age is 25.
  • Your driver's license must be valid in Portugal and held for more than 2 years. Please have all necessary documents available when completing your rental contract.
  • Vehicle deliveries to the Lisbon or Faro airport between 21:00 and 8:30 are subject to a € 20.00 surcharge.
  • Deliveries to a hotel, villa or other accommodations only between 9:00 and 19:00.
  • If you collect your car rental in Algarve and return it in Lisbon (or vice-versa), there will be an extra charge of € 150.00. This charge will already be included in your booking price.

DEPOSITS
  • We require a valid credit card deposit for security reasons. Cheques or cash cannot be accepted. The credit card deposit will be fully refundable when car is returned damage and loss free. PLEASE NOTE: Without a valid credit card deposit, no rental car can be delivered.
  • In the event of an accident, the excess amount of your vehicle will be charged. These are the excess amounts:
    • Economy 3 and Economy 5 doors: - € 950.00
    • Saloon intermediate, Compact estates and Automatics - € 1,500.00
    • Minibus 9 seats, MPV 7 seats and Cabriolet - € 2,500.00

RESERVATIONS
  • To make a reservation for delivery, you must provide us with your flight number, flight time and departure airport.
  • Requests for non-airport delivery must include the delivery address and time. Clients MUST call our contact numbers at least 2 hours before the delivery time to confirm the arrival/booking.
  • When completing the reservation form, please confirm that your email address is correct and spelled properly. Without a valid email address we cannot reply to you.
  • Reservations must be made no less than 72 hours before your arrival in Portugal to guarantee a booking confirmation.
  • Baby/child seats are available free of charge upon request. Please mention your need of a child seat within the reservation form to guarantee availability.
  • Each car may have two named drivers. Adding a third driver requires a € 20.00 charge.

HOW TO COLLECT YOUR CAR
  • In the Faro Airport - When you pick up your car rental in Faro, you'll be met in the arrivals area by a representative of YOR-Car.com. Our representative will be holding a black and yellow YOR sign. As you come through the sliding doors of the baggage claim, please follow the barrier around to your left. Ahead of you and to your right, you will see the car hire representatives waiting area (in front of the Police Station). If you are unable to locate our agent, please call our mobile numbers.
  • In Lisbon Airport - Our partner company in Lisbon is AusoCar. Look for a representative agent of Ausocar at the Lisbon Airport car hire rep area. If you don't find the representative agent, please call our mobile numbers.

PRICE INFORMATION
  • One rental day is equal to 24 hours. Any fraction of time beyond 24 hours is considered as an additional rental day. There is a tolerance period of 2 hours.
  • The car hire prices quoted on this site are our best rates. Further discounts cannot be granted.
  • Rates for 3 days are 50 % of the 7-day rates.
  • Rates for rentals of more than 3 days and less than 7 days are based on the 6-day pro rata.
  • Rates for car rentals of more than 7 days are based on the 7-day pro rata.
  • Full payment is required upon signing of the rental agreement. Payment must be made with a valid credit card (Visa/Master/EuroCard, Diners Club or American Express) or in cash (including foreign currencies). Foreign cheques cannot be accepted.
  • Our standard reservation (without any options) includes:
    • Free unlimited mileage within Portugal
    • Collision damage waiver (CDW) with excess
    • Delivery and return to the airport
    • Delivery or pick-up in Cavoeiro & Alvor: free for bookings of 7 days or more
    • One additional driver
    • Baby/child seats
    • Soft Roof rack (available only on vehicles in groups A, B, C, D and E) Carry your surfboard safely and easily around to some of the best beaches in Europe
    • Value added tax (VAT)
  • Available as optional extras are:
    • Excess waiver (known in Portugal as Super CDW)
    • Personal accident insurance (PAI) - € 4.00/day
    • Third driver/additional drivers (€ 20.00 each)
    • Insurance for driving in Spain - € 50.00
    • These options may be arranged with us when you collect the car.

INSURANCE

  • In addition to compulsory third-party insurance, a collision damage waiver (CDW) and theft coverage are provided.
  • Insurance cover is subject to an excess and your maximum liability which is indicated in the table above.
  • Optional personal accident insurance (PAI) is € 4,- per day.
  • Optional Cross border insurance for Spanje - € 50,- per contract.

DRIVER OBLIGATIONS
  • The insurance does NOT cover:
    - Damages to the wheels, tyres, windows, keys and locks;
    - Damage to the underside of the car due to negligent or off road use;
    - Damages from deliberate violation of the terms and conditions of the rental agreement or gross negligence;
     
  • Further, a police report is always requested for the insurance to cover, no matter the circumstances of the accident/damage to the car.
  • Yor Car Rental company declines damages not report to the Police. It is compulsory that the client deliver the Police report when return the car hire.
  • The Vehicle must not be driven by anyone other than you and then only under the condition that your ability to drive is not in any way impaired by mental or physical incapacity or restricted by the Law.
  • If you wish to take the Vehicle outside the country of rental, you must check that the YOR Car Hire-AR VI Terms & Conditions so permit you and, where necessary, obtain Yor car hire prior written consent.
  • Some restrictions may apply with respect to:
    - Loading the vehicle on trains, boats, ferries or similar means of transportation
    - Taking the vehicle from the mainland onto an island;
    - Taking certain types of vehicles across borders.
     
  • You must take care of the Vehicle, keep it in good repair and condition, pay any fines for which you may be liable, reimburse YOR Car Hire-ARVI for any damage to the Vehicle, and refund YOR Car Hire-ARVI for any costs it incurs.
  • You are liable for all fees, taxes, fines and penalties incurred in connection with the use of the Vehicle and for which YOR Car Hire-ARVI is charged, unless they have arisen through the fault of YOR Car Hire-ARVI.
  • YOR Car Hire-ARVI will apply Administration charges for the answer of fines!
  • During the rental period you must carry out the usual checks (engine oil level, tyre pressure, etc.) as would any careful user and you must respect the maintenance cycle of the Vehicle as stated in the maintenance guide, if any.
  • When parking the Vehicle, even for a short period, you undertake to lock it and make use of the Vehicle's alarm and/or immobilisation equipment. You must never leave the Vehicle unoccupied with the keys in the ignition. Non-return of the keys will lead to invalidation of the theft cover.
  • You undertake to use the Vehicle in a responsible manner and in particular, only for the purposes for which it is intended. For a car, this means primarily carrying passengers other than for hire and reward.
  • In particular, you must not use the Vehicle under any of the following conditions or for any of the following purposes:
    - Driving the Vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other type of narcotic substances
    - Transportation of inflammable or dangerous goods, as well as toxic, corrosive, radioactive or other harmful substances
    - Carrying anything which, because of its smell or condition, harms the Vehicle or causes YOR Car Hire-ARVI to lose time or money before it can rent the Vehicle again
    - Transportation of live animals (with the exception of domestic pets, subject to prior authorisation by YOR Car Hire-ARVI)
    - with a roof rack, luggage carrier or similar, unless supplied by YOR Car Hire-ARVI
    - Re-rental to or use by other persons
    - Carrying passengers for hire or reward
    - Participating in rallies, competitions or trials, wherever they may take place
    - Giving driving lessons
    - Pushing or towing another vehicle (except those vehicles equipped by YOR Car Hire-ARVI with a towing-hook; maximum load 1,000 kg), or exceeding the authorised load weight.
    - Travelling on non-paved roads or on roads, the surface or state of repair of which could put the vehicle's wheels, tyres or its under body mechanics at risk
    - Intentionally committing any offence.
    - None of the goods and baggage carried in the Vehicle, including their packing and stowage equipment, will be permitted to damage the Vehicle, nor put the occupants abnormally at risk
    - In any way which breaks the highway Code, road traffic laws or any other laws.
     
  • You will be liable for any offence committed during the rental period which relates in any way to your use of the Vehicle, as if you were the owner of the Vehicle. Upon the request of the Police or any official body YOR Car Hire-ARVI may have to transfer your personal data. Such transfer will be done in accordance with the data protection Laws of Portugal.

Second drivers

Each car may have two named drivers. They will need to have their passports and drivers license at commencement of hire and at all times when driving. Hire charges are payable on collection of the car by cash or card.

Child seats and roof racks

If you are using our child seats please bring a towel or other cover to help us to keep the child seats clean for clients children. The child seats that we have are standard forward facing child seats generally suitable for children from 6 months to 2 and a half years. We also have booster cushions for older children. Where parents are concerned as to the suitability of the seats we provide we would always recommend that they consider, for peace of mind, bringing their own seats.

Roof Racks: You are responsible for what you carry on the roof rack and for any damage that it may cause to the car. We ask you to take great care. Clients should supply their own tie downs suitable for the baggage they intend to carry.

There is a returnable deposit against the satisfactory return of the car. The insurance has an excess as shown on the website.

Payments

The prices for the rental of the car are based on the pick up and drop off at Faro Airport.

If you pay cash for the hire of the car you will be asked to pay the 50 euro and excess deposit.

If you pay with credit card for the hire you will be charged an extra 4%, so it is always advisable to pay in cash.

If you pay by credit card we ask you to complete a card slip as security for the amount of the deposit and excess. However this is not submitted to the bank unless there is a claim, so in the normal course you will not actually pay a deposit for either the excess. At the end of the hire the slip is returned to you and you should destroy it without delay.

We do not ask for a reservation deposit so I will not need your card details over the Internet.

The hire includes unlimited mileage within Portugal. If you wish to go to Spain you will need a bail bond and green card from our insurers. There is a charge of 50 euro.

Traffic Fines: It may happen that in case of you receiving a traffic fine, the Police contacts us to hand over a copy of your identification papers. If so, we have to bring into account an extra fee for administration costs. This will be a min. of € 5,- and a max. of € 25,- .

Excess waiver

In addition to compulsory third party insurance, collision damage waiver (CDW) and theft cover are provided.

Personal accident insurance is not included. Insurance cover is subject to an excess and your maximum liability is indicated below. Here is the price for optional waiver of the excess:
The excess amount in case of accident depends upon the car type:
- Economy 3 and Economy 5 doors: All in cost 7.00 EUR per day (Excess 950 EUR);
- Saloon intermediate,Compact estates and Automatics: All in cost 10.00 EUR per day (Excess 1500 EUR);
- Minibus 9 seats, MPV 7 seats and Cabriolet: All in cost 15.00 EUR per day (Excess 2500 EUR).

PAI - Personal Accident Insurance only 4 Euro / day available on request.

Should you have an accident or the car is broken into or any other event that requires a claim on the insurance you must call the police and get an incident report number. Without this the insurance will not pay the claim and it is your responsibility to obtain the police report number and deliver it to us. If you have any difficulties with this please do not hesitate to call the office and we will be happy to help. Please call our office to report any loss or damage even if the car remains driveable.

Car fuel

At the end of the hire please return the car with the same amount of petrol as at the start of the hire. The nearest petrol station is approx 300 meters from the airport. Follow the airport approach road until you join the main Faro road. There are petrol stations in both directions approx 1 kilometre beyond the road junction.
Please note that there are no petrol stations on the motorway along the Algarve and you should take the opportunity to fill up at the petrol station mentioned above. Returning to the airport there is no accessible petrol station on the motorway or the approaches to the airport. We recommend that you call at a petrol station at the start of your journey. It is for this reason that we do not operate a full tank policy.

YOU WILL INDEMNIFY AND HOLD YOR CAR HIRE-ARVI HARMLESS FROM ALL CLAIMS, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, LOSSES OR EXPENSES ARISING OUT OF THE RENTAL AND/OR THE USE OF THE VEHICLE.
